You’ll soon understand why Yin yoga is so popular as you develop the practice.
The physical benefits are palpable. As students work on the deep connective tissues and skeletal structures they see enhanced movement around joints and ligaments. It goes deeper than simply increasing flexibility.
Students also achieve a beautiful sense of emotional balance. As Yin yoga is a slower practice, students connect with their breath and inner energies. The practice is known to reduce the debilitating impacts of anxiety, sleep issues, and stress.
At Durga Yoga, we train confident teachers who can adapt the core practice to add variation to lessons and meet the needs of their students specifically.
A training course like this shows you how to support students of different skill levels and fill their cups. You gain an understanding of anatomy and how to teach yoga safely to every individual.

Paula Mitten is an internationally recognised yoga teacher and yoga teacher trainer. She’s the creator of Durga Yoga Ireland and Yoga Teachers Masterclass. Paula is a teacher of teachers, teaching yoga for 18 years and facilitating teacher training since 2011.
Paula's passion is encouraging self exploration and inner belief in her students and is committed to building a yoga community of support, connection and generosity.
When she's not teaching yoga you will find Paula dancing in her kitchen to 90's old school music, or at the stables with the horses. In the stillness of the morning, before the rest of the world wakes, Paula enjoys sitting leisurely over a pot of fresh organic coffee and taking some quiet time to think.
Paula's first experience with yoga was while working as a costume designer in film and television. She found pranayama as a way to destress, and cope with anxiety and overwhelm.
She went on to take over 1,000 hours in Yoga Teacher Training, as well as training in Sports Psychology, Anatomy and Physiology, Business and Marketing, Leadership and Transformation Skills.
Paula’s spiritual journey is never finished, and she considers herself a dedicated student for life.
Jennilee Toner is a student and teacher of yoga and human anatomy. Her story (so far) includes: practicing hatha and vinyasa yoga since 1996, teaching both disciplines since 2003, teaching experiential anatomy to yoga teachers in training—internationally—since 2010, as well as facilitating her own Hot Warrior Yoga and Inner Sanctum Yoga teacher training programmes since 2012 and 2016 respectively.
But that’s not all . . . she also wrote a book called The Perfect Chaturanga: A Comprehensive Guide to the Human Body Through the Practice of Vinyasa Yoga.
Her yoga journey began in 1996 while working as a deputy sheriff and training as a medic, military policewoman, and drill sergeant for the U.S. Army. Following the sudden death of her mother, she found herself wanting to make a change and be a more kind and compassionate person. Enter yoga. For the first time she became aware of how everything’s connected, and has been a lover and practitioner of yoga ever since.
